Macie and Milo's

Macie & Milo’s Brew Pup begins with an unusual program: create a place that works simultaneously as a fully turfed, off-leash dog park and as a social destination for the people who bring their dogs there. The building and site accommodate food and beverage service, sports viewing, live music, brunch, and everyday gathering alongside the practical requirements of active dog play. Rather than treating the park as an accessory to the restaurant, the project gives both uses a central role in how the property is organized.

The defining move is the direct relationship between indoor gathering areas and the outdoor dog park. Spaces for eating, drinking, and watching games are positioned to maintain a visual and physical connection to the play areas, allowing people to remain part of the activity without requiring every use to happen in the same space. The transition between enclosed, covered, and open-air areas gives the project a range of settings for different group sizes and levels of activity while keeping circulation between the human and canine portions of the program legible.

Materials and site elements respond to the durability demands of a high-use hospitality environment shared with dogs. Fully turfed play areas provide a consistent outdoor surface, while the building supports the service, food, seating, and entertainment functions required for the brewpub side of the operation. Together, these elements establish a clear framework for a hybrid program that operates as dog park, bar, restaurant, and neighborhood gathering place.
