Cypress Ridge Amenity
A new amenity center and community pool designed to serve a growing residential development in Horry County, South Carolina.
Completed as a design-build project with Linden Construction, the project benefited from close collaboration between the design and construction teams from concept through completion. The design uses familiar Lowcountry forms, proportions, and details to establish a recognizable center for the new neighborhood. Indoor spaces open toward the pool and surrounding recreation areas, organizing the building around the outdoor activity it serves.
Materials were selected for the combination of coastal exposure and frequent community use, with durable, low-maintenance finishes carrying the architectural vocabulary through both the building and pool areas. The restrained material palette and traditional massing give the facility a clear identity without relying on applied decoration, while covered and open-air spaces extend the amenity center’s use beyond the enclosed building.
